| NEW JOURNAL. |
[Jan. 6th, 2007|04:06 pm] |
Alright, I made up my mind and I'm switching everything over to a new (completely new) journal, and leaving this one behind.
Everyone on my friends list, please please please please please PLEASE add the new journal to your friends. ^0^
gazoku
Also, as I will be abandoning this journal in the near future, please let me know if you want me to remove you from this journal's friends list (as I know some people don't like dead journals having them friended. XD)
I already friended some of you on the new journal, but if I didn't, don't hesitate to friend me and leave a message on the "this journal is mostly friends only" post. I'll likely friend you back. <3
Yay. ^0^ |

| I wanna change my lj name. |
[Jan. 6th, 2007|12:44 pm] |
So I reeeeeeeeally wanna change my lj name. Like, really. I've gotten sooo sick of this one and I wanna change my name everywhere really. I think I'm gonna settle on "gazoku," (雅俗), which means like a mixture of elegance and refinement and the vulgar and mundane. I like that it has Miyavi's kanji the image it creates... anyway.
So I have two choices. I can 1: create a new lj, transfer all my shit over to that one, wait until this one's paid time expires before paying for the new one, rejoin all my comms, and maybe add all my old lj entries in backdated entries on the new one so it still has all the stuff this lj does. Oh yea, also make all my friends have to add my new LJ and remove the old one from their lists. The time that would take? Probably a few weeks.
Or, I can 2: pay to change my lj name.
Now, the $15 it costs to pay to change your lj name doesn't seeeeeem like a lot, but there's so much I'd rather buy with that money. Like, more paid time. Gas. A new issue of Shoxx from Hot Topic. Manga. The list goes on.
But if I just pay to change the lj name, it'll take no time at all, and the name changes for everyone so it doesn't inconvenience any of my lj friends, I'm still part of all my comms, plus I get to keep the (few) bonus user pics I have for the accumulated paid time I have so far on this account.
A'ight everyone, weigh in. What should I do? |

2. Yamapi's PV for "Daite Senorita." - Who is the "senorita" he's singing to? The only other person in the video other than the thugs kicking the shit out of him is the sniveling little wimp of an uke boy he saves. - Yamapi is not a brawler. I am not scared of Yamapi. His figure does not strike fear into my heart. And seeing him supposedly sporting bruises and scratches from an intense fight sets me into peals of laughter. - Who the hell wrote this song? It has about as much fluff, emo, and tenderness as Gackt's emo stuff. Are all the boys at Johnny's Entertainment like this? No wonder I don't listen to jpop.
3. Miyavi making sure one of his staff members will never have children. I couldn't stop laughing when I saw this. I just... I couldn't. Meevs nailed that poor guy pretty well.
misatojaganshi : "Goalies don't block with their nads, fool."
4. Death Note Subtitled Parody L.A.W.L. OMFG. I.... oh shit, just watch it. OMFG. You know you were thinking this deep down. You KNOW it. The guy who did Ryuuk did a hella good job.

So today, I randomly finished watching the last episode of Kurosagi. It's a pretty decent drama starring one of those pretty Johnny's boys, Yamashita Tomohisa (aka YAMAPI XD). If you're interested on the plot, you can find a weak synopsis on d-addicts.
Basic premise: Kid's father gets swindled and stages a family suicide to save face; kid manages to survive; kid finds one of the people responsible for the swindling and tries to kill them; said person taunts him; kid randomly decides to become a swindler of swindlers and asks the person he just tried to kill to sell him information on swindlers so he can extort money from them and then get them arrested. Six years later? Cue series.
XD! It really is very good, actually. If you can get past the HORRIBLY ANNOYING chick in the show that basically thwarts him every step of the way while also saying she loves him. What kind of shit is that?
But I really was happy with it. This is the first drama series I've watched whose ending I liked. The FIRST ONE. I've gone through a LOT of Japanese dramas (the latest being GTO, Gokusen, and My Boss My Hero) and this is the first series whose ending was actually enjoyable and made me smile. Every other one just pissed me off. Every other one. What shit is that...?
... anyway. I'd like to upload it, but each episode is some 350MB in size, and I think that even SendSpace limits you at 300MB, right? So I either need to find something that compresses REALLY well, or I'd have to split the files with hjsplit and then upload them seperately... that'd leave me at like 22 uploads (as there's 11 episodes) ... sounds like a big headache actually. I'm gonna try compressing it with WinRar and see how well it compresses. If I can get them below 300MB, then I'll definitely upload the episodes and make like a drama uploads page or something.
(In case you're wondering how I got them in the first place, my friend has a membership to a paid site that I downloaded them from.)
Next on my list of stuff to watch: Nobuta wo Produce. (This is assuming I can find it. XD! That paid site I mentioned only has the first few episodes raw.) |

70-year-old woman beats off mugger with kick to crotch
OSAKA -- A 70-year-old woman who was attacked on a street in Osaka managed to foil her would-be robber by kicking him in the crotch, police said.
At about 9 p.m. on Tuesday, the attacker grabbed the woman from behind and covered her mouth before pushing her onto the ground in Osaka's Ikuno-ku, demanding money.
However, he fled after the woman kicked him in the groin.
The man was about 165 centimeters tall and looked around 50 years old. He was wearing jeans.
The woman told police that she used her right leg to administer the coup-de-grace as she has trouble moving her left leg.

I realized I was crazy behind on all my anime, and I uploaded two episodes each of Death Note and Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (they're both up to six episodes each). You can find all my uploaded anime here. I also uploaded a few random PV's; some old (Gazette), some new (Kannivalism, Abingdon Boys School). You can see my PV list here. I often upload stuff without mentioning it here, so feel free to check back to those posts as often or as non-often as you'd like (they are linked in my profile, so they should be easy to get to). XD!
Got my car back today. They replaced the battery, but now it makes strange groany noises when I turn the steering wheel all the way left or right. Hmmm. I'm not sure I'm happy with how it's running. Oh yea, and the engine still whines hardcore. Ugh.
I made an appearance on Batsu again. Somehow, I'm still listed as the mod. XD!! I don't think I've been there in MONTHS. Oh well. I have friends there who would have told me if some huge drama was unfolding that needed my intervention.
I just realized that I need to finish making my Diru mood theme. There's still a ton of moods that I want to use that I don't have pictures for. XP
[EDIT] LJ is being a bitch whore for me tonight. ANYWAY, someone uploaded the entire Agitated Screams of Maggots PV here. The thing is edited though (wtf), so I can't tell what's going through even half the PV. I don't like it. It earns a big fat WTF from me. o.O' |

You are Strength
Courage, strength, fortitude. Power not arrested in the act of judgement, but passing on to further action, sometimes obstinacy.
This is a card of courage and energy. It represents both the Lion's hot, roaring energy, and the Maiden's steadfast will. The innocent Maiden is unafraid, undaunted, and indomitable. In some cards she opens the lion's mouth, in others she shuts it. Either way, she proves that inner strength is more powerful than raw physical strength. That forces can be controlled and used to score a victory is very close to the message of the Chariot, which might be why, in some decks, it is Justice that is card 8 instead of Strength. With strength you can control not only the situation, but yourself. It is a card about anger and impulse management, about creative answers, leadership and maintaining one's personal honor. It can also stand for a steadfast friend.
What Tarot Card are You? Take the Test to Find Out.

| | 雅 - 「俺達だけのファイティングソング」 | ] | I just wanted to throw up a comment here to say I read through some of Diru's interview on Barks about the latest single. Sounds like the whole Agitated PV will be animated. Kaoru (I think it was Kaoru anyway, remember this was late last night) said that it was Toshiya's suggestion that they have an animated PV this time around. They tracked down this artist dude in Japan because they liked his unique style, and I guess they asked him to make an animation for their PV.
([EDIT] Since I'm too lazy to copy it and just paste it up here, read down through my comments with 6cubed for more info from the interview.)
That said, I'm reeeeeally... um.... amused? uncertain? uncomfortable? interested? to see where the PV goes after the big dude perches on the table in front of the little girl. Yea. With Kyo shrieking about raping our daughters on our grave.
WTF Kyo. You want to rape our parents AND our daughters? Isn't that just a bit excessive?
XD!

This would be the song I'd play for my friends as a JOKE while saying, "Yeaaaa.... this is the band that I blew $600 on to see twice." And everyone would laugh and say "Oh god, Ally, you're joking, right? This song is crap!" and I'd laugh with them "I know! Isn't it awful?? But I promise, their other music is fantastic."

| [ | music |
| | nothin' | ] | Since I feel compelled to comment on Diru's third trip to America inside a year:
I'm happy they're coming back but annoyed because they're coming nowhere near me, and I'm not going to blow another couple hundred dollars after I've already spent some $600 to see them twice this year. The closest stops are in Chicago or Colorado and either of them is a good 6 hour drive for me. I feel like if I keep seeing them so often, it'll start to lose it's specialness. Seeing them during the Family Values Tour already was kinda "... okay, it's Diru again. Whoo, cheer for Diru!" but it already didn't have the excitement that was present when I saw them in New York.
I'm sure they'll come back again, if they're already raping us so frantically with three trips to America inside the span of a year. Maybe I'll blow money to travel and see them again when they come to America next time (as they seem to think the midwest hates them). But this time? It just... I dare say it... it just doesn't seem worth it to me. I'm not blowing another couple hundred dollars when I've already seen them twice... most people see a band maybe once a year or once every couple of years. Seeing Diru three times inside a year to watch them play the same damn songs just has no appeal for me.
Gyah, I'm sounding like a jaded fan. Honestly, I wish them the best and I hope everyone who's going has a fantastic time. I'm looking forward to reading those reviews!
(I also wish in the future, they'd give us more than a fucking week of warning before the tickets go on sale. That's hardly enough time to contact people and make plans to make sure you can travel somewhere to see them. Fuckers.) |
